Application architecture is designed to hold millions of tracking requests, store and work with big amount of statistic data. One of the main points of this application is managing the products' feeds and tracking visits, orders. Main challenge of the application was analytical processing of big data sets. After the analysis a set of java tools was selected to cover critical places in architecture hBase+Hadoop and Mondrian. While whole application is build on Ruby on Rails, set of libraries were made for communication with those java frameworks. As a result, we have a big system build on RoR with data managing in java frameworks. On the one hand, such approach makes application very flexible and easily extensible, and, on the other hand, it gives ability to process and store unlimited set of data.
